Frocester Parish Council

Frocester is a small Gloucestershire village and a parish in the Stroud District. It lies below the Cotswold escarpment, ten miles south of Gloucester at the entrance of the Stroud valley. We are a relatively small community with a population of less than two hundred.

Frocester was the site of a Roman settlement and formerly an estate of Gloucester Abbey. The village was formed around the crossroads on the road running down Frocester Hill towards the Severn crossing at Arlingham. The remains of a Roman villa have been excavated in the grounds of Frocester Court and another near the remains of St Peters Church.

Through this website Frocester Parish Council publishes the contact details of councillors, council meeting agendas & minutes, financial and accounting information and other information that is required under The Transparency Code. In addition, we aim to provide information on the history and geography of the village, news from Frocester and Stroud District Council, and provide links to other organisations within the parish.
